Taking to their Instagram, the Duke and Duchess shared their festive pictures, explaining that the occasion was ‘to thank all those working and volunteering over the Christmas interval’ and teasing their upcoming TV programme, A Berry Royal Christmas.

‘The Duke, Duchess and Mary, together with some very particular friends including @nadiyajhussain host a Christmas Social gathering to thank and acknowledge employees and volunteers from charities and organisations who can be working tirelessly over the Christmas period,’ the Cambridges captioned the images.

The captions continued: ‘At @rhswisley Mary joins The Duchess behind the scenes to study extra about The Duchess’s commitment to the early years in raising the subsequent era of completely satisfied, healthy youngsters.’

BBC One’s A Berry Royal Christmas is about to air on Monday 16th December at eight:30pm.
